Science class

This week in science we had a quiz on Monday on food and bacteria. On Tuesday we learned about the different parts of a cell, like the nucuelus, ER, golgi aparatus, mitochondria, and lycosomes. On Wenesday we labled the cell on the smart board again and then we labled the parts on a real cell. I think we are doing this because we are looking at cells and thinking that they are bacteria. We also learned about uni cells and multi cells. Soon we are going to have to know about what the cell parts do.

This week in science

This week, (from 11/17 to 11/20 we learned about the bacteria growth. We forgot to count the boxes in the petri dish, so we couldn't compare. We than got a mini simulation about Truman and Jackson middle school. They asked us if Truman was better than Jackson in science. The problem was that they gave us misleading information. The information wasn't enough that they gave us. We did this to show how we couldn't compare any information by not counting the boxes in the petri dish. We also learned about graphing. The graphs have the independant variable on the x-axis, and on the y-axis, it is the dependant variable. That can help us compare. Then we also got to do a simulation on the computer. That compared the bacteria growth and the initial population. It showed how the bacteria grew as time went by. Now we have to graph the information. I think that Mr.Finley made us do this to show how we have to keep all of our data. We learned how to compare bacteria growth, and time. Next time we do an experiment, we have to keep track of all of our data.
